HEADLINES
IN THE LANDSCAPE AND SMALL DETAILS
Anjeliek
Blaauw is inspired by topographical maps from which one can
read the landscape, the tortuous contour lines, the paths
and the roads. She looks at the capricious outlines of an
island, the straight lines of a harbour area. Walking in the
landscape she makes pictures of small details, a cut trunk
of a tree, moss on old stones etc. She gets inspired by the
shapes and she translates them into her own language of abstract
forms. One time tight, another time capricious. She especially
is looking for mysterious elusive forms. Yet her objects are
not shapeless. The forms are pre-eminently in balance.
INTIMACY
Intimacy is the red thread in the sculptural work of Anjeliek
Blaauw. Her former architectonical work is extremely intimate.
Her more recent work which is inspired by landscapes, also
has intimacy. There is more tension between frankness and
reticence, internal or yet external orientation.
PAINTINGS
Her recent paintings on acrylic sheets have often been painted
on both sides. Her transparent way of painting creates a shining,
diffuse world, giving the paintings a mysterious layeredness.

GROTE LIJNEN IN HET LANDSCHAP EN KLEINE DETAILS
Anjeliek Blaauw laat zich inspireren door topografische kaarten
waaruit je het landschap kunt aflezen, de kronkelende hoogte
lijnen, de paden en wegen. Ze kijkt naar de grillige omtrek
van een eiland, de rechte lijnen van een havengebied. Al wandelend
in het landschap fotografeert ze kleine details, een afgezaagde
boomstam, korstmossen op oude stenen enz. Ze laat zich inspireren
door de vormen en zet ze om in een eigen abstracte vormentaal.
De ene keer strak, de andere keer grillig. Ze zoekt vooral
naar raadselachtige ongrijpbare vormen. Toch zijn de beelden
niet vormloos. De vormen zijn bij uitstek in balans.
BESLOTENHEID
Beslotenheid is de rode draad in het beeldend werk van Anjeliek
Blaauw. Het vroegere architectonische werk is heel erg intiem.
Het meer recente door landschap geïnspireerde werk heeft
ook beslotenheid in zich. Er is een spanning tussen openheid
en geslotenheid, in zichzelf gekeerd of juist naar buiten
gericht.
SCHILDERIJEN
De
recente schilderijen op perspex platen zijn vaak aan beide
kanten beschilderd. Door de transparante manier van schilderen
licht een diffuse wereld op, de schilderingen hebben daardoor
een geheimzinnige gelaagdheid.
